About Patrick
I started Uncommon Sound in 1998 on a theory: the vibe matters more than the gear. If the people in the room feel good, the work gets better. If they feel watched or managed or rushed, it doesn’t. Twenty-five years later I haven’t found a counterexample.
The first real decision was a baby grand or a recording studio. I took the studio. I’ve been making that trade ever since. The useful thing over the elegant one, the thing that works over the thing that impresses.
What followed was sessions. Recording for the BBC. Original scores and music supervision for broadcast: ADT, Dr. Scholl’s, Pomì. One of those client relationships ran twenty-five years before AI ended it quietly. Film scoring under Rick Baitz through the BMI Mentorship Program, one of nine selected that year.
I compose, record, mix, master and arrange. Every genre, every budget. Apple Digital Master certified engineer.
I write and record my own music as Pongo Face, the band I’ve had since 1999. Six releases, the most recent album Out There.
Sound serves the story. When it does you don’t notice it. You feel it.
